uTorrent 1.7.3 Build 4470

Posted: September 7, 2007 in Softwares

µTorrent is an efficient and feature rich BitTorrent client for Windows sporting a very small footprint. It was designed to use as little cpu, memory and space as possible while offering all the functionality expected from advanced clients. Most of the features present in other BitTorrent clients are present in µTorrent, including bandwidth prioritization, scheduling, RSS auto-downloading and Mainline DHT (compatible with BitComet). Additionally, µTorrent supports the Protocol Encryption joint specification (compatible with Azureus 2.4.0.0 and above, BitComet 0.63 and above) and peer exchange. µTorrent was written with efficiency in mind. Unlike many torrent clients, it does not hog valuable system resources – typically using less than 6MB of memory, allowing you to use the computer as if it weren’t there at all. Additionally, the program itself is contained within a single executable less than 220 KB in size.

Features:

* Multiple simultaneous downloads
* Configurable bandwidth scheduler
* Global and per-torrent speed limiting
* Quick-resumes interrupted transfers
* RSS Downloader
* Trackerless support (Mainline DHT)

What’s new:

– Change: Returned to listview for addtorrent dialog
– Change: Always activate other instances of uTorrent, even if they were started with /HIDE or /MINIMIZE
– Change: do not let missing or unwanted pieces prevent endgame
– Change: improve compatability with Mainline DHT
– Change: DHT port message implementation
– Fix: Tentative fix for “Proxy for peer-to-peer connections” functionality if disabled
– Fix: Divide-by-zero crash in statistics
– Fix: Smarter guessing of whether to replace run on startup registry key in case user wants to modify it
– Fix: Hang when deleting files
– Fix: sending in cookie with rss feed item requests

    Want to start your private office arms race right now?

    I just got my own USB rocket launcher 🙂 Awsome thing.

    Plug into your computer and you got a remote controlled office missile launcher with 360 degrees horizontal and 45 degree vertival rotation with a range of more than 6 meters – which gives you a coverage of 113 square meters round your workplace.
    You can get the gadget here: http://tinyurl.com/2qul3c

    Check out the video they have on the page.

    Cheers
